Robert E. (Bobby) Conn, 85 of Billings, Montana, passed away on Saturday July 15, 2017, at the Riverstone Hospice Home with his daughter Melissa and son-in-law Bob by his side, due to complications of a stroke.

He was born on August 11, 1931 to Orval B. and Cora Ester McNamee Conn in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa the 7th of 9 children. At an early age after the death of his parents, he went to live with his sister Marjorie and brother in law Clyde Loyd along with his younger brother Jack. Bobby and his sister Verna Lou had many countless hours of fun and laughs thru out his life. He attended Winfield and Mt. Pleasant Schools. Following high school, he entered the United States Army on April 20, 1949, before his 18th birthday. Bobby served for 13 months in Korea, and was honorably discharged on June 6, 1952. He was proud of his service to his country.
He also was with the American Legion for 30 years with the Honor Guard in Galesburg, Il. Rain or Snow they were out to Honor the Military Funerals.

He was united in marriage to Norma Oddetta Windle on February 14, 1954 in Middletown, Iowa and to this union three daughters were born, Clarissa, Melissa and Teresa. He started working for the CB&Q Railroad as a Labor at the West Burlington Shop. Later he moved to Galesburg, Il and updated his status to a Fireman and Locomotive Engineer and continued his service with Burlington Northern Railroad for 40 years. His passions were fishing, golfing and bowling. He would travel to Dothan, Alabama for a week each year with friends to golf which he thoroughly enjoyed. As he became older he enjoyed going out for Breakfast at Little China with Melinda serving him, and Lunches out at The Brickyard in East Galesburg, Il and the gang out there. His suppers consisted of Cherry Pie and Ice Cream. He was known as the candy man as he always had candy in his pockets for people.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Clarissa K. Conn Marina, Ca., Melissa R. (Bob) Adams, Laurel, Mt., Teresa R. Aman, Dickinson, ND. grandchildren, R. Chris Adams, Mt. Union, Zachary (Jolina) Adams, Palm Desert, Ca., Tanya Aman of Fort Collins, Co, Tiffany Aman of Williston, ND, 2 step-grandchildren, Stacey Adams, Joshua (Lisa) Adams both of Livingston, Mt. and three step-great grandchildren, Thomas, Zakary, Briley and a Pet Dog Spencer. Along with his brothers and sisters; Marjorie Loyd Columbus Junction, JoAnn (Scott) Williams, Burlington, and Jack Conn of Mt. Pleasant, and several nieces and nephews.

Proceeding him in death, his parents, one son, three brothers, one killed in service Orval B. Conn Jr, Lucian Conn and Melbourne Conn, two sisters; Shirley Ann Conn and Verna Lou Kester Stout.

Services will be held at the National Cemetery in Laurel, MT, followed by a Graveside service in Iowa will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with full military honors following the service.
