Jamie M. Lawrence Marr, 55, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 20, 2022 at her home in Wayland, after a long battle with lung cancer.

Jamie was born on February 15, 1967, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the daughter of James Edwin and Donna (Newberry) Lawrence. She graduated from Winchester High School in 1985. Jamie worked hard all her life in various gas stations. She was loved by her customers and coworkers. She will be greatly missed by her customers and friends who enjoyed her Christmas cookies every year. Jamie enjoyed crafting, reading, and road trips with her daughter. She was never afraid of setting out on a new adventure with Katlin.

She is survived by her daughter, Katlin McAlister (Camren Renken) of Wayland, two grandchildren, her mother, Donna Lawrence of Winchester, Illinois, her sister, Debra (Tom) Helm of Milton, Illinois and many beloved friends.

Jamie was preceded in death by her father, James E. Lawrence, her maternal grandparents, Ralph and Vivian Smith, Albert R. and Mildred Newberry and her paternal grandparents, Delbert and Ruby Lawrence.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. No services are planned at this time and a celebration of Jamie’s life will be held at a later date to be announced by her family on Jamie’s Facebook page. A private family burial will be held in Winchester, Illinois. Jamie’s family would like to express their appreciation for the great care that was provided by EveryStep Hospice of Mt. Pleasant.
