Frank L. AllredFrank LeRoy Allred, 88, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Frank was born on July 11, 1934, at Wayland, Iowa the son of Arthur Gerald and Helen Marcella (Anderson) Allred. He received his education in the Wayland area schools and graduated from the Wayland High School in the class of 1952. Frank was united in marriage to Lorene M. Hill on June 13, 1953, at the Methodist Church parsonage in Mt. Pleasant. He attended the Cottonwood United Methodist Church at a young age as his great grandfather was the minister there, and considering that his home church. For a number of years Frank and Lorene operated the Franks Food Mart in Danville. Frank later went on to start his insurance business Allred Insurance Services. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Moose for 42 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Lorene, of Mt. Pleasant, his children, Randy (Jill) Allred, of Danville, Greg (Linda) Allred of Mt. Pleasant, and Jeff Allred, of Mt. Pleasant, 6 grandchildren, Jacob (Christy) Allred, Aaron (Condra) Allred, Jamie (Scott) Wilson, Matthew (Giselle) Allred, Nathan Allred and Shannon Allred, 9 great grandchildren, Savannah, Calysta, Kearrah, Scarlett, Emma, Mason, Bennett, Wilson and Daisy, and 1 great great-grandchild, Rowen, his sister, Marcia (Gene) Randall of Burlington, and special friends of the family Blaine and Judy Arnold of Davenport. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Nicholas Allred, two brothers, E. Dean Allred, Theodore Allred, two sisters, Rita Yoder and Juanita Evans, along with good friends, Kenneth and Doris Wilson. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cottonwood United Methodist Church rural Wayland with Pastor Gerald Muller and Pastor Jeffrey McPheron officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until time of the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will follow in the Cottonwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Cottonwood Cemetery or to the Henry County Ambulance Service in his memory. |
